This project is based on Montessori method, who uses wood squares ( Golden Beads ) to teach math to kids.
It is typically used at the kindergarten and lower elementary levels.
The ideia is a material to support teachers, initially working with subtraction and addition using tens and units.How it will work:
1.
The main activity will show two options: subtraction and addition.
The teacher will select one of those options.2.
The next screen will show two "houses": (T)ens and (O)nes.
Random values will be generated for the variables to be added or subtracted.
From this point the child assumes and the teacher will give the directions.3.
The child will drag and drop the "Ones" from the "Ones Box" (above Ok button) to the result line of "Ones" until reaches the result.4.
The child will drag and drop the "Tens" from the "Tens's Box" (above Clear button) to the result line of "Tens" until reaches the result.5.
When the child clicks on the Ok button, system will validate and give him the result.* New values will be generated after returns to main activity, or after the child gives the correct answer.
